Ordered a replacement phone. I hate phones, but it's not so bad if I think of them as tiny personal computers. Of course that means anything that tries too hard to get in the way of me putting software that I write for myself onto my own device is a non-starter. Picked a pretty green one.

(What I'd really love to see is an updated version of the Nokia N900. I got 2 of those and didn't put phone service on either, but the combination of stylus, slide out keyboard, and my own custom software made it great for things like capturing observations at the cupping table.)

@neal the Nokia E7 was supposed to run Maemo, not the Symbian it shipped with when the team lost an internal political battle. It was some of the best hardware I’ve ever seen running one of the worst operating systems ever made.

I have an N9 in a drawer here and it is like a tiny temple to a better future not taken.

@mhoye Those platforms aren't going to burn themselves, I guess.
