Maybe the hotel will have a cat for me. I stayed in a place like that once (cat showed me the way to my room on check in, sometimes tried to get into the room when I was heading out, had to let it in from the balcony once and am not sure how it ended up out there, and it hung out with me in the lobby while waiting for the ride back to the airport).

@neal Which hotel? It sounds lovely!

My housemate sends me a lot of cat photos via Signal when I'm away. I'm continually impressed by how well-received Signal is by my non-technical friends, and it's so convenient to have our usual messaging be something that isn't SMS when I'm traveling.

@yomimono It was some place in Thailand. I forget the name but I get the impression it's not that uncommon in that part of the world.

@neal In that spirit, here's a cat @kit_ty_kate found in the Marrakesh airport, which humans cannot enter without a valid boarding pass (or piece of paper which states that one is entitled to a boarding pass on entering the airport). We saw the cat in a room which humans can't enter without a passport.

@yomimono The cat was definitely the high point of the place.
