I wish I knew of an easy way to animate presentations on Linux, for video production purposes.

It'd be nice to be able to smoothly animate parts of a diagram in sync with an explanation.
One option I've already thought of, which I might actually do, is use Adventure Game Studio to create animated segments using pictures, sprites, and sounds. This would actually be a pretty neat idea, and with enough effort, would allow me to do full cutscenes with characters following the written script of my video.

@sean Abusing tools you're already familiar with is a great option. It's why I usually just reach for QML when I need something like that. Not because it's a great tool for the job but because I already know how to make it do what I want.

@neal it's an interesting situation! it's easier to use what you know, and much harder to work with something new and unfamiliar.

I installed a program recently (Natron) that's this kind of compositing tool for putting layers of stuff on a canvas and animating them. Cool idea, but it's honestly such a power-user tool that I can barely understand how to use it.

I've been experimenting with just using OBS and LibreOffice instead, and while the workflow is clunky (LO is horrible), I at least have a way to rig something together and just fake it.
