I'ts not just vibe coding; SAAS has just destroyed people's ideas of how fast computers are or what anything costs.
I'm in a... somewhat awkward conversation in a different forum where people are talking about a database migration that's "millions of rows" and "as many as 60k transactions month" and I'm sitting here thinking, ok so on average a transaction a transaction every 40 seconds or so, have you considered putting it on an SD card and mailing it.
@mhoye I've heard that one measurement per second is "big data." It's not. (I don't think they appreciated hearing from me that I had previously done a usability study on exactly what they were talking about, that their users would be happier with a few times more data than they were collecting, and the size of the data would still be tiny.)
