Step 4 indicates that 2 more of part 1 should be used than is true. Two of the holes are there to later receive part 3. Step 10 should be completely disassemble the unit because step 1 didn't show proper orientation. Step 13: Discover that there are 3 completely different things labeled part 9. Step 19 has clarifying text that might have been useful to have in step 10 (as written, not the take it apart and try again one).
Bad instructions aside, it's going together fine and is looking pretty good in its almost finished state. Looking forward to putting stuff on the shelves.
Step 31 probably should have been done after step 32 or 33, but if I'm understanding the overall design of this unit properly, it might not be necessary at all. I'll look into this a little more later, but the me who wants to go to sleep thinks not doing this step at all might be the better long term decision. Steps 35-37 should also be skipped.
In the continuing adventures of shelf assembly, step 33 should definitely be done after step 32 and before step 22. Step 24 is where you realize that there aren't just 3 completely different parts all labeled 9. It's really 5 different parts.
