Why You Should Do It Yourself

"... Linux users used to say "You wouldn't buy a car with the hood welded shut!" With Linux..."

That's not to imply feedback would not be welcome on other issues as well.

I got a couple feature requests for Typica today.

For the first one I'd welcome community feedback on whether the trivial change requested is either of value or not detrimental as something that could be available (well, is, in the feature branch so you can test that and see what you think) before the broader work that I think makes more sense is done. Typica users, free to reply here or on the github issue page if you have any strong feelings one way or the other.

@Satsuma Mine is mostly a lap or sitting next to me cat. Likes to stay in the most convenient petting locations.

The cat I'm visiting has decided to sit in petting range tonight.

@lilithsaintcrow Herbivore, duck billed, lived around modern northern US/southern Canada, name means "near the highest lizard" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypacros

@gnomon It looks like I'll need to authorize the release of another 800ish next week that I wasn't planning on getting for another month. Sales are a little better than expected.

car, birds

Birds were trying to get run over while I was driving today, but I declined to hit them.

When I come home from work my cat yells at me until she gets hugs. This is a daily thing unless I stay home all day.

(also I prefer KDE from a usability standpoint)

My Mac has developed the annoying tendency for WiFi to stop working when using one of my port expanders, but not right away and randomly. Unplugging fixes. I miss my Linux laptop where hardware actually worked, the computer had a nice assortment of useful ports, and I didn't have to pay so much attention to available storage space because I could get an acceptable amount without spending obscene $.

I wish I had more time to work on Typica 2.0. Mostly because I want to be using Typica 2.0 in production.

mastodon, hacker news

looking at the latest hn thread about mastodon and seeing at least a half-dozen people who are essentially saying: "i went on mastodon and the people on there were behaving in a kind and respectful way, and it was too stressful to make myself behave in a kind and respectful way too, so i left"

weirds me out so much when i read stuff like this. like gives me a massive huge "unknowability of the other" feeling
