Now I know that it takes >24 hours for my server to do a full set of transcoding jobs on an hour of 4K video. I also know that a full res version shows up just fine, though the browser on my computer can struggle to handle that (maybe hit the download button and use a real video player if you must go full screen 4K). If I don't upload more stuff (except I probably will) my job queue should empty out some time tomorrow.

Added a "historical" channel for still relevant public domain stuff because why not. Using the support section for the first video queued up for that to point to where you can donate to The Internet Archive. It's still behind a few other videos (though what I uploaded does seem to stream fine without its initial transcode so maybe I'll hit the publish button early).

Initial transcoding jobs from the 4 videos uploaded last night are finally finished. Now it's working on the smaller resolution versions. This would probably go a lot faster if I had >1 core provisioned, but I don't.

Windows build of Typica on current development branch ended up with an .exe file 74KB smaller than the 1.9.0 release. Now <2MB. It's always nice when you can get more features in a smaller size without really trying.

The computer I use to do the Windows builds of Typica has gotten very bad at keeping track of the time and date while it's not in use. Probably a dead battery (I'd recognize it when I saw it, but it looks like I'd need to disassemble the thing pretty far). Obnoxious that all my certs are failing just because the computer thinks it's 2011 (thus before the validity period).

(I teach enough to get a 100% discount for that event, but I still need to get myself there)

My instructor discount code has come in so I'm now registered for this year's Coffee Roasters Guild Retreat. Still need to sort out transportation. The event is just over the border from Portland this year.

The experience on these longer/high res files should be better once I upgrade the instance to beta 9.

Last night's uploads are still going through the initial transcoding. The 3rd one is probably almost done, the 4th one will go a lot faster, and then the server will move on to making the lower resolution versions.

Turned off the CPU utilization alert for that server. Using all the CPU is normal and desired for a bunch of video transcodes.

@deadsuperhero Today it's a demo showing how to use a degree of roast analyzer with some software I've written, the latest episode of Roast Profile Development, a video showing the crazy coffee roasting setup at a Roasters Guild Retreat, and a video that does a basic walk through of how temperature measurements go from a thermocouple into a computer.
