My mother had good/bad timing on deciding to get out of the house. Good: she washed my chai cooking dishes so I don't have to. Bad: she drained the sinks so I need either run new dish water or take the pitchers out front after bottling.

Someone bought all the chai concentrate so I'm cooking more now.

Also got an external optical drive since games still come with soundtrack CDs and I'd like to be able to listen to those. Was glad to see that it's a tray loader (some stuff also still comes on mini CD which don't work with slot loaders)

Changing random stuff until your program works is "hacky" and "bad coding practice", but if you do it fast enough it's "Machine Learning" and pays 4x your current salary.

New computer finally moved out of the hub and into the state. Should get out for delivery today on schedule.

The ballot was too long. The markers in the voting booths are on strings and there was no fixed position where you could get the marker to reach every part of the ballot at once so I needed to shift things around.

Most of my junk email now is now people claiming to be Chinese manufacturers trying to sell me washers (as in the metal rings commonly seen on bolts) or lasers intended for things like concert light shows. The same email every day, always from a different address.

So I'm wondering, are there people who need washers in bulk making buying decisions based on sketchy looking spam? That seems like a bad idea on several levels.

New computer has been at a UPS facility 1.5 hours away for 47 hours now according to the tracking page (it's supposed to get delivered tomorrow), but USPS delivered a paper notebook, so that's nice, I guess. I figured they'd just tuck it in the box rather than mail it separately.

Computer at a facility 1.5 hours away apparently has not moved at all in the past 30 hours. It could have been delivered today, but since the delivery estimate is still Wednesday I guess they're just letting it sit there.

Why am I not surprised that there's already a fan produced English translation patch for Violet Detector? It looks like something I'd enjoy playing so I should pick that up when my gaming backlog is smaller.

The biggest problem with duck typing is that modern keyboards just aren't designed very well for webbed feet

New computer has arrived at a shipping facility about 1.5 hours drive away. Still scheduled for delivery Wednesday. I'm hoping it shows up early.

Cat wants to play video games with me but my thumbs are not doing the button pressing right for the ones she likes so it's time to switch to something that requires less precision.

@deadsuperhero I haven't heard it so I looked it up and now I have to wonder what musical spite sounds like.

The Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2 bundle on PSN is apparently intended for people who are bad enough at arithmetic to not notice that it costs more than buying the stuff in the bundle separately. ($39.98 for the two collections when purchased separately or $39.99 when purchased together)

Deleted accounts on the gitea server from spamy looking names that didn't activate their accounts. Manually activated a new account from someone I know to be a real human who emailed that they failed to notice the activation email in their junk folder for >3 hours.

Should I do an unboxing video when the new computer arrives? The last machine I got from them came in a cool box.
