My hotel room is now being guarded by this cat. I feel safer already.

Overnight (my current time zone, more reasonable times for senders) I got 3 emails with electronics questions all from different people for unrelated things. I'm usually not the right person for that sort of thing but if I can keep people from burning down their facilities or destroying $$$$ equipment I try to help.

Previous experience suggested that I could only use chopsticks in China. Now I know I can extend that to more of Asia. Maybe I just can't use them in America.

not even root can delete the file because the system has no clue about anything other than the file name.

Watching international news channels:
Pro: less time spent on whatever Trump is lying about today leaves time for interesting stories.
Con: I'm reminded that I have no clue how Cricket works as a sport.

I may have finally convinced someone that they really and truly have sent the wrong part twice. Hopefully when I get back home there will be an appropriate fan available to swap in. As near as I can tell the chain of communications went:

me->guy on phone who knew what I was talking about
phone guy->California team that didn't but maybe now does
California->RMA dept. which made the mistake twice

Can you just give the guy who answered the phone a box of mailers and some parts? That'd work better

With a several day gap I got another update on the support ticket for my defective fan and I have to wonder if I'm being trolled.

The only American channel with news in the hotel room is Fox News. Fortunately the channel selection is decently global so there's superior European and Japanese alternatives available in English. Or there's the channel that's all KPop music videos. That's fine, too.

Cloudy and rainy, but I still managed to get sunburn.

Did some design work for the future of Typica that I'm feeling really good about. Still want to do some semi-functional mocks to get a better sense of if it's the improvement I think it should be.

Went to a little place that serves Indian street food still cooked street-side but with indoor seating, proper utensils, etc. (if you sit at the window you can people watch and watch the owner cook the food). It was good but I swear one of the pieces of music that played was sung around a melody from The Legend of Zelda (you know which one).

The mocha has a surprise scoop of ice cream at the bottom.

Nutella and berry pancakes for breakfast along with a single espresso and an iced mocha with way too much whipped cream.

Luggage didn't arrive on the same flight that I did so the airline delivered it to the hotel.
