The cat was not a fan of my being out of town for almost a week. Requested far below average cuddles last night/this morning.

I wouldn't want something like this to be my only espresso machine because with something like this it's too easy to come up with an espresso that can only be delicious on a similar machine (home espresso enthusiasts and the vast majority of shops need not apply) but as a 2nd machine or outside of a blend development context there's a lot you can do with that.

I got to play around with this a little bit in Boston. The 2 group would just barely fit in my bays (so doesn't leave a lot of work space) and it's out of my budget, but the tech seems solid so I'll have to keep my eye on if they're able to shrink that down a bit both on footprint and price (or for some future 2nd shop). duvallespresso.com/fc1-machine

The funding display on typica.us/ now shows the $100 someone gave me at Expo. That doubled the amount collected so far this year. Thank you.

I also got other people's coffees to enjoy and this cupping spoon.

Another cool gift was this bag made out of defective coffee retail packaging.

One of the other instructors gave me a shirt at Expo. I considered wearing that today but it still smells from printing so I need to give that a good soak first. (I don't need to smell like vinegar)

Email says that the flight time has changed "due to ETD". In this context I'm pretty sure ETD stands for estimated time of departure, which isn't really a cause you can put after "due to". They may as well just say, "we changed the time of your flight so it's leaving at a different time because we changed the time of the flight," which sounds kind of silly.

This is amazing.

The original #OcarinaOfTime's #Spanish localisation wasn't completed in time for the game's release. Instead, Nintendo released a #translation guide for the game. Players were supposed to look at the English text and look it up in this booklet.

Someone scanned it and put it online, and now you too, dear reader, can do your own Spanish translation of OoT!

A lot of people have apparently started calling me, "the professor." I heard it a few times at the event and it showed up on a bunch of the feedback forms.

Got scans of the student feedback forms from my class. Overall very positive. It looks like a couple people would like to see a little more chemistry. I might be able to pare back a little of the stuff on consistency proxies and put in a little more on the chemistry if I'm invited to teach this again.

I've written up a segment for my next video going over the roasting exercise and one of the new slides that I can probably get out later this month.

I keep sitting down at gates other than my flight is out of (for better access to electricity or food) and the airline keeps changing the gate to where I'm sitting.

Hit a non-profit (as opposed to merely unprofitable) coffee shop for breakfast on the way to the station. They say marathon Monday is terrible for business because everybody just hits the Starbucks instead. I had a blueberry muffin and a slightly fluffier than I like mocha.

Travel day. I'm getting in early enough in the evening that I can pick up the cat on the way home instead of waiting until tomorrow.

Someone handed me a $100 bill today to help fund work on Typica. I'll stick a record in the database so that's reflected on the web site when I get back. Financial contributions are always appreciated.

Hitting a chemistry lecture this morning. It's review for me, but the person presenting the material is good at it.
