Getting lots of code written today. I'm adding more hardware support for Typica, specifically Phidgets devices with channels that can use the CurrentInput API. I'm probably not going to finish that today, but I'd like to get that and some other stuff done before the upgraded optical head comes back so I can start logging data from that automatically. Before the next release I'll probably go back and add VoltageInput support now that I have an easy way to test that and maybe DigitalInput?

Today I got a text message referencing a photo of a screen showing a video of me from someone who works with someone I've worked on education projects with who wanted to know if they knew me. Apparently I came across as a cool roasting teacher, but the video also had my cat in the background which I'm pretty sure makes me seem cooler. (at the very least, my cat thinks I'm cool)

I know that's structurally awful. I'm not editing it.

We had a lot of bare faces over the past few days (we were keeping a tally to plan for what kind of disposable mask supply we might need), but now that the mask ordinance is in effect people are wearing their masks and not throwing tantrums. Better late than never, I guess.

There's one of those boxes that tries to sell the local newspaper in front of my shop. I think it only has the front section of a paper from I don't know how many weeks ago for display purposes only. I hope nobody tries to buy that. They'd be disappointed.

Got another order for coffee I roasted today. If the post office hadn't cut their lobby hours I'd've just packed that and dropped it off after work, but since I can't do that it doesn't make sense to bother filling any more orders until Monday.

@cpsdqs An excellent suggestion. Alternately, people seeking distraction might be directed toward Misskey with its widgets for automated distraction generation (and the ability to self-identify as a cat).

@cpsdqs Maybe the big instance should use gem stones instead of metals for better product differentiation.

@cpsdqs In that case you'll be wanting the platinum subscription: buying a big instance.

@cpsdqs That's a feature. It's the distraction-free experience that helps you focus on more important things.

@technomancy Can you interact with that crack in the platform? There might be a hidden compartment with an item required for a later puzzle.

At some point I'd kind of like to try sticking some screen casting software on the prototype and live stream a roasting shift.

Sent the prototype roast cam back. They're going to put some cooling on it to make it work better and send it back. The mounting holes aren't problematic.

@steinbring I'm assuming the city will get sued and our pro-death judge will block the order, but my shop can keep the equivalent rule so we'll just carry on after that gets thrown out.

Someone wanted me to send them something by UPS, but the UPS web site didn't want to take my money so I'm spending a couple dollars less and using USPS as usual instead.
