@professor_stoke Add a small amount of coffee to the milk (instead of adding the milk to the larger amount of coffee) so you get something you can drink right away while the rest of the coffee cools. Then learn how to make coffee that's not too hot by the time you're standing in the cold.

My mother has offered to let me use her car while mine is in for repair since she's biking distance from everywhere she goes and knows that if she needs me to take her somewhere I will. Saves me from figuring out a rental because she has the same car I do. Even the same color.

The cat has declared it hugs time.

The Miku concert in Chicago that got rescheduled for September is now a TBD April-May, which I think is a sane decision. They're still selling the fancy multi-colored glow sticks that they couldn't keep in stock for her last tour that hit Chicago.

Today's deliveries included this box of mostly free cat toys. (some cats enjoy these cardboard packing materials)

New furnace filters are on the way. The shop is going to try switching from MERV 8 to MERV 13, expect the filters to require changing about twice as often.

Might go for that. One of the places to drop off ballots is just a couple blocks from my house and I don't really want to do outdoor voting in November in Wisconsin.

Mail contained a mail in ballot request form. It included a bar chart showing how my participation in elections compares to average. I always vote so that's an above average.

The cat is expressing concern. I'm going to eat the last slice of angel food cake with strawberries. After today, I deserve it.

My work for today is not finished, but I'm giving up on it.

A fast food worker saw the whole thing and checked on me promptly so I bought some food in their drive through before leaving.

Got rear ended while running errands today. My vehicle suffered hopefully minor damage, but my service center is closed for the day. Bumper did its job. Other driver has a completely wrecked front end. Neck is a little sore, but I'm pretty sure I'm okay. Police took our statements, I got the info for my insurance company, have filed a claim.

Today's roasting lends further weight to the notion that my algorithm works better. Each batch ended up within 0.1-1.0 of expected vs. the old algorithm showing error in the range of 2-6.

More sneeze guards to reconfigure the phone order pickup area have shipped but have not yet arrived. We'll also need something to cover a power cable and prevent that from being a trip hazard. That's ordered but not yet shipped. I'll need to cut that down to an appropriate length.

There's also been some furniture rearrangements and I'll be removing the chairs that we haven't been letting people use to make more and more attractive retail space. Not sure where I'm going to put all the tables, but worst case for those is putting some cloth over them and turning them into more retail display space.

Half gallon bottles arrived today so that size chai concentrate is once again available, at least while our current bottle supply lasts. We were out of stock on that size for months and I don't know if the supply disruption is completely resolved or if we can expect another massive delay when we place the next order.
