At times I wonder what exactly HTML-enabled e-mail has improved:
* phishing, definitely,
* illegible e-mail because fonts & stuff never look the same at the other end,
* bandwidth wastage,
* forcing people to "load remote content".
Once I was in an argument where HTML e-mail was meant to help those visually impaired but surely a text reader has a much better chance of getting it right with plain text?
Every time I teach a class that includes a cupping session I find at least one person who sets those up in about the least efficient way possible. I should probably just point people to this video in the pre-class materials. https://youtu.be/CE70njcI9_o
I see everyone on here talking about their difficulties and challenges and you're all such sweethearts. I just want to wrap you all in bubbles so the world can't hurt you. 80 foot tall bubbles... Made of steel... With arms and legs and advanced missile systems and laser eyes... Wait I'm thinking of mechs. I want to wrap you all in mechs.
