Spent some time with a coffee farmer visiting from Guatemala. He knew that I wasn't looking for a new supplier but we roasted and cupped his coffee and had a good conversation about that.

Air conditioner at work isn't keeping up and I'm drinking hot coffee because that's an important part of my job. Recently switched to a new lot of coffee from Costa Rica, designed 2 roasts. I can now confirm that the production test batches are delicious.

I have bonus slides that can get worked into the lecture proper, but hopefully I can also get more student interaction/questions/&c. from this group. The group in April was pretty shy.

It looks like I need to add another half hour to my lecture for the class I'm teaching in August.

I think there's already a merged PR that adds that.

After work I want to make myself a big sandwich. I have materials to do that at home.

Today I put together a holiday chocolate order because if you want snowmen you order those in June. Fun fact: chocolate reindeer are really just chocolate bunnies with different printing on the wrapper. The catalog seems to have a much larger selection of boozy chocolate than usual. I ordered none of it.

The rules help keep the worst pols away and keep them from being too disruptive, though some of them attract very large crowds. This one has more equipment (lights, &c) than usual.

I was wondering why the WiFi got slow all of the sudden. There's a politician doing a video shoot so it's a bit of a circus at the shop right now. Approval to use the space does not constitute endorsement. I let all the politicians (unless they're literally nazis) do stuff here as long as they respect the rules (we stay open to the public, they need to be willing to talk to everybody, not just people who agree with them, when filming, get releases from everybody, that sort of thing)

Freight truck just dropped a skid of Bodum stuff in the alley. Mostly manual coffee brewing stuff.

Release notes draft for 1.9.1 keeps getting longer but I want to do some general web site updates before releasing that.

My rules for this release are that I'm not going to do anything that requires large scale changes across the code base, I'm not going to do anything that requires me to bother the people who translate the UI text to other languages, and I probably also don't want to do anything that affects the database, but otherwise if I can make things better I don't mind doing that.

Tracked down and fixed another bug. I should really refactor some of the stuff around roast plan loading.
