One of the people interviewed was actually the first person to suggest that I should run for a position on the RGEC.

Skimmed through the article that I was interviewed for in the latest Roast. I still don't have physical copies, but I have the code to access the digital version. It's a nice piece. I know a substantial fraction of the other people who were interviewed for that and the ones I don't know, I've enjoyed their coffee.

Got the feedback forms for my class. The response was overwhelmingly positive.

Did the (I hope) final Typica 1.9.1 builds. I'll be doing deployment testing later today and then that should be available to download in the usual place.

Windows users on 1.9.1rc1 can safely ignore this (no functional changes). Linux users with HiDPI screens or who don't stick to their default system themes might want to track the development branch for a little while as I'm fixing stuff related to themes and HiDPI.

It seems like every time I read the communications manual for another device that speaks modbus I run into another way the protocol gets abused that needs special case handling in software.

Airline sent an email apologizing for the delay. That's nice, I guess, but there was a pretty bad storm at the destination and the weather control technologies we have are not exactly free of consequences.

Everybody waited to place their wholesale orders until after I was back in town.

Why would you agree to be transferred to someone who can answer your questions only to refuse to ask them because the person isn't the one named (who you've been told you need to call early in the day if you must talk to them [you don't]) on your paper? There's something about stereotypical office work that rots the brain, I think.
