i think the only thing i've ever learnt from knowing people who find computers hard to learn how to use is that computers would be easier to use if they stopped changing them constantly to make them easier to use

Ordered about 1500 pounds of coffee today. I'm a little upset because I asked them to let me know when one of these coffees was available and I never got the return call on that. I would have placed the order sooner and bought more had they followed through on that.

Two packages arrived from out of the country today. Sometimes the customs forms are strange. One of these was labeled as a gift of "car alarm" which isn't even close. In this case there's no difference in taxes or tariffs to explain it so I imagine they're just shipping everything as "car alarm" because they don't English and it's just easier that way.

Overnight the cat kept shifting closer to my face.

After dinner I'll try to stay awake and draw new graphs.

Of course for me I just write that stuff into software and let the computer do the math for me instead, but not everybody wants that.

Finished writing up a section of a document that goes over useful formulae for coffee roasters. More of a plug your numbers in like this to get that information out sort of thing than anything that explains why that works. While it's useful to know how to derive the math, it's obnoxious to have to do that every time you forgot the formula you came up with last time and for a lot of people in the profession it's been a long time since they were in an algebra class.

Woke up to a $50 donation in support of developing Typica (free software that hooks into coffee roasters with lots of features that make consistent roasting easier and reports that help you make sense of the business side of coffee roasting operations). That brings the total for the year to date up to $175 minus processing fees.

Thank you,

What am I supposed to do with all these dragons?

I've had an extremely lucky run with dragons that's taken me to #1 on the @chest_bot leaderboard. A couple dragons have survived exceptionally long and they keep bringing back more dragons/food. No telling how far I'll be able to push that. Current score 1100, dragon still alive, another dragon/food still in reserve, and enough platinum/diamond to buy more baby dragons if needed.

This was the smallest of 6 boxes of chocolate that arrived today.

Me: I should get up and eat a breakfast.
Cat: I would like to curl up and take a nap on your chest now.

After the water heater incident it turns out I didn't need to buy new filters. When the shop got a new AC the air flow through the furnace there increased enough that it needed bigger filters. We still had a couple of the old filters left over and they're the exact size my home furnace uses.
