Got the survey for the support ticket for the replacement laptop fan. Given that they sent the same wrong part twice before getting the right one sent out and it took nearly a month of having a mostly unusable system, they got a 2. I used the comment field to let them know how they could have gotten a 10 along with an alternative in case they didn't want to actually empower the more competent employees to do the full job that could have gotten them at least an 8.

This is still the most Klingon design on a coffee bag I've ever seen.

The pen is a Pilot G-2, though I generally prefer the V-5.

This is what I've been using to draft the coffee roasting book I've been working on. It's a hard cover Moleskine book that came in a swag bag from some event. Between the hard cover and the strap, I can fit it in my pocket without worrying about it getting destroyed and I can write notes as I think of them no matter where I am. The contents get moved to a computer, organized, and fleshed out when I have larger time blocks and I'm in the right state of mind for working on that.

I've been seeing a lot more marketing emails that when viewed as plain text have lorem ipsum.

Dug out an old DVD player to see if that still worked. The tray tries to close as soon as it fully extends so I have to grab that and hold it open to change discs, but otherwise it seems to be working. Need to find the case for the disc that's apparently been inside for who knows how many years.

In fairness, everybody ought to have known that yahoo would kill tumblr eventually.

Some boxes arrived today that are marked as having dimensions 9x9x5x5 so now I have to wonder how many seconds are in 5 inches along the 4th dimension?

It seems that even with the water heater leak I still have the smallest possible water bill short of disconnecting from the utility. A benefit of living alone (the cat doesn't drink that much water).

Bought another ~1.5 tons (US) of coffee today.

I wonder what this said before it was run through Google Translate.

Lately I've been able to spend more time working on that coffee roasting book I've been writing on and off. I hope to finish that and publish it some day, maybe sell a few copies.
