Recording is done. Some minimal editing is still required, but I should be able to knock that out this evening and get this uploaded tomorrow. Be sure to watch til the end for a special guest appearance by Punk, the cat.

Doing some final checks before recording the next episode of Coffee and Code. I've decided to film this episode in my library in front of a painting that I picked up on my first trip to Ethiopia.

If I do decide to drive to the next event I'm teaching at I've been invited over to visit someone about 2/3 of the way between here and there. That could make the drive a little easier.

Visuals for the next video are done. If I can get that recorded tonight I can probably slam out the edits and upload that tomorrow.

I decided to create a small survey to ask a few non-personal questions about Fediverse users, their opinions on its various platforms, and their thoughts on non-Fediverse networks, such as Facebook and Twitter.

The survey is oriented at people who currently use the Fediverse, and does not provide any way of saying that you do not currently use it.

If you’d like to participate in the survey, you can do so here. It opens at midnight on the 13th of May at midnight AEST (12th of May, 2pm UTC), and closes one month later on the 13th of June. I’ll be posting the results every now and then until it closes.

Please answer honestly, and send it to your friends if you’d like them to participate too! :mlem:

The cat is watching the dishwasher. Why is the cat watching the dishwasher? I don't know, but it seems to be one of her favorite things to look at. It doesn't even work.

Finished the last trophy in Nelke that requires any kind of decision making. I don't see how I met the requirements, but it popped anyway so *shrug*. Two more left for the platinum but they're pure grind. I can effectively put my city on auto and they'll happen eventually.

Most of the visuals for the next video are done. Probably not finishing that tonight, but I like what I have so far.

This is also more likely to happen when the cupping is strictly blind. When I'm evaluating to make purchase decisions all I see is a number and it isn't until after I'm done that I reference that back to any other information I have about the coffee.

My favorite coffee on the table today was also the lowest grade. Sometimes that happens because coffee grades are based primarily on physical qualities, not sensory ones. There's often a correlation there, but exceptions are legion.

Today's cupping session has a coffee that was pre-roasted by the importer. It's easy to tell which one that is because it's lighter than the sample roasting spec.

Was chatting with my mother earlier today and she asked if I was driving to the next event I was teaching at. It hadn't occurred to me but a ~13 hour drive each way doesn't sound so bad right now.

The cat has been petting me more lately. She's getting good at it. Still can't get her to do back massages.

Today's dental work went really fast but post-op involved a bit more pain and blood than last time. I have a good supply of ice cream and pudding.

For any kids wondering when you'll ever use your high school math, given the diameter of one hose and the circumferences of a power cable and another hose, will all three fit through an existing hole in your 1 inch granite counter top?

Packed an order for shipping. This particular customer is a regular but their order is for an amount of product that basically maximizes shipping cost per unit product. They're paying that and I'll sell them what they want, but if they were willing to add or subtract one from their usual order and adjust order frequency to compensate they'd be saving so much money on shipping.
