The only things you can currently buy there are one pound bags of whole bean roasted coffee. Hopefully this was not a horrible mistake.

Had to explain to an employee that while what he was trying to do was technically identical to doing things the way he was trained, it was legally different and he needed to do things in a way that wouldn't get us in trouble if an inspector came through because in this shop we try to comply with relevant regulations even if they don't make a lot of sense in our specific context (there's usually a broader context where it does make sense).

A background check company called about a former employee. I said all good things about them (which are also true).

meal ingredient kits have gone too far. Today in the grocery store I saw a cardboard box containing plastic wrapped ingredients that you can assemble yourself at home to make...

For half as much money you can buy an already assembled sandwich with a lot less packing material or for not much difference in price you could buy separately packed ingredients for several sandwiches.

I love the junk mail that says, "you could save $x on y" where x is considerably more than I currently spend on y. (they're never really offering to pay me to go with them)

Someone wanted to take money out of the tip jar to pay for their drink. WTF is wrong with people that they'd think that's cool. The attempt was prevented, but seriously, that's messed up.

While there's no natural disaster to explain this outage, I've seen this before in hurricane aftermath. Lights are on in that bar/restaurant, let's go there, and you end up with everybody in town at the Applebee's or something.

I heard the shop got a sales boost this morning because half of the rest of the city was without power.
