Peggy Karp's RFC 247 is the first RFC to make me laugh out loud since the early RFC 100s I think

My street still has barricades to keep cars from driving on it while it cures. That was only supposed to take 3 days and today is day 4 by my count so I hope those get removed soon. It would also be nice if someone could put back the missing chunks of sidewalk. One part in front of my house got replaced with sand which the neighbor kids have been playing in (I don't mind the playing, but there's a proper park with playground literally 2 blocks away and I'd rather not have to pick up their trash)

AdSense is paying out again for my YouTube channel. That covers another 10 months of hosting for my PeerTube server (except probably not because I want to upgrade that before I run out of disk space, so more like 5-10 months depending on when I switch plans).

Found Autumn on this pile of Dad's coats. They probably still smell like him.

(not that I expect anybody else to actually use it directly since a lot of stuff is going to be directly based on my own niche uses, but someone might find it useful as an example if they want to do something similar)

Last night I spent some time generalizing some of the stuff that I often end up rewriting from scratch when I make new coffee roasting videos. Taking some time to think about what I really want let me come up with something that's more versatile, more concise, and easier to work with, so that's a thing to be happy about. I want to build it out a little more, try actually using it for some new videos, and if it still seems useful I'll probably make the code available.

I guess this is Mom's cat now. She likes the exercise mat.

There's hidden stuff if you jump up above the ceiling and run along the top of the stage.

death

My father passed away tonight at the age of 71 after a battle with lung cancer. The death was quick and painless.

There's a street in front of my house now that wasn't there when I left. Still can't drive on it for at least a few days, but it exists now.

Today I learned there are hospital beds that can play nature sounds (beaches, birds, &c.). I don't know if my father can hear it, but that's nice.

New Fair Trade Certified decaf coffee from Sumatra passed the last of its product development testing. It's not on the web site or on the shelf yet, but if you're in Racine, WI and you really want some, we can bag that up now.

Cat just fell off the couch and has walked away all, "I meant to do that."
