There's a very large difference between having the right to do a thing and doing the right thing.

Thinking of naming my next program after my cat.

Star Trek Nerd Shit: DS9 "Past Tense"

Behr also commented that (several months after the two-parter aired), "People are still even writing that we only presented 'one side' in 'Past Tense' and that we should have presented 'both sides' and not just the 'liberal' point of view – and I'm still trying to think what that means. In other words, we should have showed the positive aspects of putting the homeless into concentration camps? And I do admit we probably failed in that – we really did not show the many, many wonderful aspects of life without money and living in over-crowded camps."

Just had an employee resign, which is just as well because their next shift was going to start with a conversation to find out why I shouldn't fire them.

There was a black cat on my apparently evicted neighbor's porch. I hope it wasn't theirs.

I put out an update on the coffee roasting book I'm writing. If you're subscribed to the mailing list, you'll have already received this. Otherwise, you can also read it at tinyletter.com/roastingbook/le

There's a house next to mine that hasn't had anybody living in it for ages. Tonight there's a :yell: camping in its front yard. We greeted each other as I walked past.

Newborn cats instinctively know to go left to collect the morph ball.

Might end up finishing a 6th episode of Roast Profile Development before the end of the month. After that it might be a new series, but I'd like to put that one out all at once for easy binge watching.

Today grass got put back in between the sidewalk and the street. There's still concrete barriers at the cross street so no access to my driveway, which is probably just as well because it looks like the entire contents of my next door neighbor's house has spilled into it. They didn't last long, but I won't miss having diapers left on my porch (wtf neighbors).

Everybody I've shown this to was surprised that THIS was the part that broke.

funeral stuff

Yesterday was my father's memorial service. He had a good turn out, lots of people had stories to tell. Today he was entombed at the cemetery. Honor Guard was at both events (he was drafted during Vietnam). Got to spend some time with some family members I don't see often enough. I'll be glad to go back to wearing comfy shoes.

I left the cat channel on the television when I left the house today. I don't think the cat cared one way or the other.

I somehow ended up getting stuck on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles channel (which is apparently a thing that exists) and one of them was watching a Star Trek knock off in which mirror universe evil Wesley Crusher appeared and was promptly mutilated horribly in a transporter "accident".
