This is the story of the little ship that took a little trip.

The cat approves of the hand sanitizer at my polling location. She expressed an urgent need for belly rubs.

I voted. Never saw so many people at my polling place at the same time before, but my ballot number wasn't unusual for a presidential election. I think it's just that they've got things set up differently from normal and their computers are slowing things down compared with the usual big paper books. Slower voter throughput means longer lines and more people in them.

Giant box of air purifiers arrived at the shop today. One is near the phone order pickup area (front end of the bar), one is near the walk in order/pickup area (back end of the bar), and a third is in the coffee roasting/bagging area. The idea is to provide extra air circulation and virus removal nearest the places my staff are most likely to be.

Wearing my fox ear beret and tail today as a comfortable low effort costume that I can still work in.

Not sure how it happened but the latest royalty payment from Amazon was really good (still only $1.01, but normal is $0.02-$0.20). The credit union recently started trying to categorize my transactions and it put that one down as "Salary" which seems excessively depressing (even giving away software pays better than that).

It looks like there's one interactive dog in Genshin Impact. I can't pet it, but I can call it a good dog. This means I have absolutely no incentive to help the guy who is unreasonably scared of the dog until Mihoyo adds dog petting as a proper feature.

Everybody loves Christmas Sloth, but nobody wants to buy it.

I think the local newspaper has mostly given up on trying to sell copies from the box they've got in front of my shop. It looks like they're only putting a copy at the front of the case and then not even bothering to change it daily. (or is the newspaper just no longer a daily thing anymore because who reads dead tree newspapers when you've got a web site overloaded with the absolute worst kinds of ads getting in the way of reading the articles?)

Finished my class and test early. Still waiting for my sister who was also renewing.

If any fedi peeps playing want to link for the current event, my code is UNK9OPBK

Long day tomorrow. I'll be getting my food safety management license renewed (there's a review class for most of the day followed by a test). I have enough employees with the license that I don't technically need to have this (I pay staff to get this), but I'd rather keep it up.

Talkative cat is letting me know all about her exciting day.

New coffee from Java is available on the web site now. I still need to design a label for it, but I'm putting that off until tomorrow.

I think I'll go with a blend combining coffees from Indonesia (Sulawesi and Java), Guatemala, and Brazil this time around.

Working on new espresso blends is difficult these days. You have to put your mask on, make the coffee, then take the coffee away someplace where you can be alone before unmasking to take a sip of the coffee, then mask up for the next attempt, repeat until it's right. And since it's espresso, there's a limited amount of time to taste that at its best. I guess it's good for the people who count their steps.
