I've got some new code working with way fewer SLoC than the equivalent from the previous version and now I'm tempted to golf it down a little more.

The cat has requested hugs, so I'm hugging the cat to calm her down. That always works, but she can be content to stay curled up on my lap for hours and that's not going to work right now. Several minutes of hug will be fine.

Advantage of administering your own systems: phishing scams claiming to be from your whatever admin are obviously bogus no matter how well they're crafted because you certainly didn't send that email to yourself.

I wish I could convince my sister that not only do I not know anything about iPhones, I do not wish to learn enough about iPhones to be competent technical support.

Is there some reason computer makers haven't figured out how to put the headphone port on the front of the machine?

Working from home this week. Full time continuing work on Typica 2.0. Will need a grocery run and might have a brief PR thing that isn't scheduled but otherwise unless my staff gets into some trouble I shouldn't need to leave the house. The cat approves.

I recently swapped a different old computer in at the coffee roaster and was a little surprised to come in today and discover a Squid Girl screensaver running. I think I had forgotten that screen savers were even a thing.

The shop's web site has been updated to add 6 recent coffee arrivals. Also removed some older main page entries.

I wonder what the cat is doing, but not enough to put creepy cat surveillance tech in the house.

It looks like the person who abandoned their sketch book at the shop still hasn't come back for it. It was mostly empty and what had been drawn on was mostly furries.

I have a roasting class coming up in a couple weeks and this is an interesting enough coffee that I think I'm going to try to use it there.

As for the dark roast, this is one of the lighter dark roasts and I'm pushing it fast enough to get to the high temperatures needed to get the dry distillation notes that dark roast drinkers are looking for while also preserving some of that fruitiness (moving it more to the aftertaste) and sweetness that I like about the coffee. That combination brings a complexity to the flavor often missing from dark roast coffees, making it an excellent gateway to the dark side.
