I was a little bit worried about this since my soldering skills have never been very good. I should probably look into the possibility of getting a proper replacement part.

Repair attempt made on a part that was clearly never intended to be repairable. Upon power on nothing exploded and initial behavior is as expected so I'm going to take that as a good sign. Want to let this warm up and give it a good test before I call it fixed.

Unplanned equipment failure. I think I can fix it, but I'll have to dash home for the soldering iron.

Got a bunch of boxes of cans of tea in today. This is good as someone got overzealous with the recycling and I've been pretty much out of good boxes to ship things in. The cans of tea arrive in boxes that are exactly the right size for 2 pound coffee orders, which ended up being a very common order size after enabling sales through the web site (phone orders averaged larger).

Slipped and fell on the way to work. Fortunately I've had very good training in safe falling so no injury. Sadly, this was part of a school theater program that was being kept going by one passionate instructor and got axed when they retired.

Needed a new game controller (to the extent that such a thing can be classified as a need). The store I went to would sell me any color I wanted as long as it was pink, so I guess I'm gaming with a pink controller now.

Now that I'm settled in a little more she wants belly rubs.

The cat is very upset that when I came back home I didn't just immediately start cuddling the cat for several hours.

Who is the best Sonic character and why is it Sticks the Badger?

Got an order today that's large enough I may have trouble finding an appropriate box. Good problem to have, I guess.

Last night's dream had a battle at the top of stairs at home. I'd finished taking out the skeletons and was turning my attention to a ghost when I realized that the ghost was entering me. Went to the bathroom to check myself in the mirror and saw that my eyes had changed to be pale and glowy then tried to do a scream like a banshee and nothing came out, but I seemed to be pretty chill with all of that.

Once again my arm has become a cat pillow, which is kind of unfortunate because I could really go for some ice cream right now.

Had a little bit of programming time available today. I started work on a new thing a while back and then got hit with extra work that meant I didn't have time to do much other than writing down some design notes (on paper) while doing that other work. Those paper notes do, however, mean that much of the thinking is already done and I can just slam out some code now.

YouTube thinks I'm not connected to the Internet, so they delivered a page asking me to connect to the Internet. Delivered over the Internet. Which was successful, because I'm already connected to the Internet.

Tried the new classic mode in Tetris Effect. Enjoyed the music, but kept trying to fast drop the pieces, which of course doesn't work. (it's been a while since I've played NES Tetris)

The cat has switched from sitting on my phone to sitting on me.

Surprise coffee delivery. (I knew it was coming, I just didn't know it was out for delivery today,) A bit unorthodox as the skid arrived in such awful condition that the driver couldn't remove his jack, so I did sort of a crap job of unloading that to get him on with the rest of his day faster and now I can finish the job properly. It's all additional bags of things I've already sorted out how to roast so I'll verify the batches but there shouldn't really be any product development work to do.

Tried the new coffee from India. As a light roast it had a neat apple note that unfortunately doesn't hold up well as the coffee cools. On the darker end of a medium roast that same note appears briefly as the coffee cools, but the best overall evaluation was on the lighter side of a dark roast where there's a lot of aromatic intensity, a bit of a spiciness, and it's solid from the first sip all the way until it's cold.
