Was given a very nice cupping spoon today. Anne gave me one of these last year so now I have a matching set for skimming. Also, a Coffee Roasters Guild member pin.

Very pleased with how the classes today went. Minds were blown.

was handed a bunch of hemp milk on my way out of the party. I suppose I'll have to drink that before I leave town.

One of the manufacturers set their machine on fire while it was empty. No big deal. Well contained.

Coffee #4, caffe mocha with a nice design on top immediately hidden by a lid.

Coffee #3, a very nice Colombian coffee. Probably the lightest roast of this trip to date.

wondering if my room still isn't ready or if the hotel forgot to call me

Took a walk around to reorient myself to the city. Is nice/weird to just randomly run into other coffee people who want to talk with me. No other roasters in Racine.

Event is in Boston next year. Hope they've figured out how to get roasters approved this time around. Last time it was there we could only get approval for electric sample roasters, limiting the classes that could be offered. Then again, there are a lot of options now that didn't exist back then. The right instructor (not sure they exist) could do something interesting with that.
