CSV
So, CSV export on all reports: not happening. CSV export on some reports: probably not happening but maybe. CSV export from some kind of query explorer: decently likely if I can figure out an interface that's not completely awful.
CSV
On the other hand, I can also see how it could be useful to have something built in with a lower learning curve for weird one off data exploration tasks that don't really fit the model of a pre-canned report.

Personally I'd rather get the feature requests of what deficiency in Typica is leading them to the idea that they want this data in a spreadsheet to begin with and see if it makes sense to improve Typica with regard to that use case.
CSV
The main use case when anybody brings this up is using the data in a spreadsheet, but every major spreadsheet application can just connect to the database directly (it's PostgreSQL) and leave Typica out of that side of things. Similarly, psql can output CSV through the \copy metacommand if you wanted to use a spreadsheet that runs in your web browser instead of a local application. Both of those are probably better choices.

Registered for the event that I'm teaching at in April. They've added a $5 volunteer administration fee, which is pretty messed up. A lot of the draws of that event are things that run on volunteer efforts. All things like that will accomplish is drive disengagement. (Technically I'm getting paid for what I'm doing, but not enough that it makes sense from a purely transactional perspective, but if I were signing up for grunt shifts I'd be pretty pissed about getting asked to pay for that.)

@kara @malevolent_usb_drive @Taweret The romanticized past thing is very true. I mean, It manages to romanticize shit like WW2. I'd say a lot of that is actually down to campiness/foraying into myths/ignorance rather than downright conservatism.
At it's best it challenges this stuff - one of my favourite things in DS9 is that Sisko brings this whole thing up - his discomfort with taking part in a holosuite program set in Jim-Crow era
The most obnoxious part about this is that the same data needs to be sent to another part of the government and to do that it's just a couple clicks in the accounting software and it goes off electronically without this stupid hand transcription of digital records step.
Here's a link to that dinosaur fabric if anybody wanted to look at that.
