local politics low turnout

I voted in a primary yesterday. One of the candidates on the ballot decided they didn't want to run after all but they still got 7 votes. The top vote getter got <100 votes, but that's still nearly 3x what the 2nd place candidate got.

It's a shame that turnout is this bad.

I think I might be able to taste things again. This coffee is good.

Vegetable thins taste pretty close to how they should. Better than nothing, I guess.

I miss coffee. I'm not chemically dependent so there's no point in drinking it if it doesn't taste good and nothing tastes good right now. I can't finish a meal for the same reason so I picked up a bunch of pudding cups.

Voter turnout in my ward is so bad. I was number 20.

Nutrient time. Let's see if I can deal with pineapple.

Got a revised proof and I think there isn't an editor involved. The feedback I'm providing today includes the phrase, "factually wrong and semantically dubious."

Someone on Twitter mentioned that in some regions of Germany, a common idiom for whenever there's mist in the forest is "The foxes are making coffee", and thought the image was evocative enough for an illustration.

Well, I took the bait! 🦊☕

sick, food

Trying to eat a breakfast. I know I need the nutrients, but it's hard because everything still tastes bad.

Got the proof for that magazine article. Had to send some feedback because the last paragraph is inappropriately first person. This makes it difficult to tell who those "I"s refer to and it suggests that I'm the one who wrote the article, which isn't true. I suggested rewriting that in third person.

alternating between chills and sweats.

Out of medicine. Might head out for more today.
