Film crew is wrapping up for lunch, will be back around closing for a little more. After that I'll be going over to my parent's house for my sister's birthday dinner, except it's not my sister's birthday. It's my dad's cat's birthday.

There's a film crew at the shop all day today. They're doing a portfolio piece but I think I'll be able to upload that to PeerTube when they're finished. They're scheduled for filming another day later in the month.

My daughter’s Harry Potter themed craft book includes some basic coconut oil based lotions with fancy names, and I’ve gotta say Hogwarts would be about 1000x creepier and more awkward if the books always said “lotions” instead of “potions”.

The city has been messing with traffic light timings again. Sadly, whoever is in charge of that is awful: fails to consider pedestrians and has a hard on for the three way red.

:cirnoHi: In case anybody was wondering, over a third of the custom emoji on this instance are Cirno. :cirnoHeh:

The staircase is a pretty common pattern on the stuff where I'm trying to provide useful information. I put it out, nobody notices that it exists, but then half a year, a year, two years, five years later someone happens across it, shares it with a bunch of people, and it gets popular. :cirnoShrug:

According to YouTube Studio my videos typically get a weird gigantic spike in watch time after they've been up for about half a year. The one that's become the most watched coffee roasting video that actually provides good information on that site didn't get much for views in its first year. Now I just tell people to watch my stuff on video.typica.us/ but nobody does. :cirnoPeek:

It already embeds an ECMA-262 host environment, but one that's deprecated and the recommended replacement, last I checked, was missing required features so at some point I'm looking at a major architectural redesign. I've been doing small pieces of functionality to explore some different options so I know a lot of directions I don't want to take.

Lately I was thinking of developing a new scripting language for Typica. This is, of course, a terrible idea.

I use the cupping spoons that people give me. This one is from Australia.

Trying to decide between a couple different approaches to a new Colombian coffee. They're both delicious (though a third cup pulled between the two I like is not delicious).

The button on my pants fell off. Not because I'm getting wider, they're just old and the string wore out. Nothing a needle and some new string can't fix. Thankfully this happened after the shop closed so I don't have to worry about my pants falling down in front of people.

Today I got to eat the lunch I brought in to work yesterday.

I see some extreme packaging situations. Some companies use way too much packing material, others use not nearly enough or configure it in a way that's completely insane, sometimes things show up stacked way too high. It's almost a surprise when I see things that are packed reasonably, and I'm just like, you know that appropriate shipping practices make you more profitable, right?

Remember the company that decided it didn't want to sell to companies as small as mine? Their distributor is breaking open the manufacturer case packs and repacking the stuff in about 50x as much packing material. It's completely obscene, but they also have the best price I can get for that stuff.

Seeing someone reading a book I like, it's almost like the book is recommending the person.

The obsession with presenting realistic simulations severely limits the artistic potential of holodeck technology.
