Last week Thursday part of the roaster failed (the plumber who put the part in a few months ago screwed something up, the original part lasted nearly 2 decades). Today the replacement part arrived and I successfully put that in myself (needed to buy a tool, the person at the hardware store was very helpful). For the days in between, I used a combination of items that were never intended to be used together to glue the broken part together well enough to work until the replacement part arrived.

Saw fine print in a watch advertisement advising potential buyers to not operate the watch between 9PM and 3AM (if you do, the watch will break). This seems like a strange and oddly specific failure mode for a timepiece.

I've just noticed that the keys on this keyboard that display both the shifted and unshifted characters have the shifted characters below the unshifted ones. That hasn't caused me any typing difficulty since it's not like I look at the keyboard to find what I'm trying to type but it's an odd choice.

I thought I recognized the name on today's web order and sure enough, the coffee is going to another person who roasts coffee (and has used my software to help with that).

Why do pundits think anybody wants a Facebook replacement? Facebook has always been an awful confusing mess of a platform and anybody moving to something else should probably want that something else to, I don't know, NOT replicate the worst aspects of what they're leaving?
