One of the former drug dealer tenants, shortly after moving in, tried to sell my father crack. He declined to purchase then walked the 1 block to the police department to let them know that his next door neighbor just tried to sell him crack. The police reply, "well what do you want me to do about it?"

The last owner before it became a rental property sold the place for $7,000. He totally got scammed on that one and could have gotten a better offer from a more responsible buyer.

Someone was out at my house because they got confused. Looking at maybe buying the house next door that's been vacant for a long time (ever since a tree fell on it). My father tried to buy the property a long time ago just to keep it from getting rented to drug dealers (it used to be every couple months the cops would haul away one set of dealers and the landlord would turn around and rent to their dealer friends) but the asking price was obscene. New ownership can hardly hurt at this point.

First coffees of the day. Each cup is a different coffee, but they're all Colombian. 2 are decaf.

Nielsen still hasn't followed through on their threat to phone survey me. I think whoever they bought my number from just has it wrong.

Random thought of the day: what if I did a detailed write up of every coffee I worked with over the course of a year (or however long it takes to get enough material) and turned that into a book?

Ran out of breakfast food at home so I stopped at a bakery before work for donuts and a loaf of bread. Need a proper grocery run after work.

I might replicate those roasts again for the tasting component of a lecture I'm doing next month.

Fraud department phone person saw a ton of stuff that hadn't hit the web interface yet. Apparently whoever was trying to use our card had like 20 orders each for thousands of dollars of alcohol. All declined now.

So after the fraud department freaked out about a totally valid charge from a company the shop's purchased from many times, they failed to catch several thousands in fraudulent orders for wine.

Nothing is more romantic than the gift of control.

How does an NES emulator use most of 12 cores and still stutter the audio on a machine that can emulate PS2 games just fine?

Results are very close. I think I'll also do 2 of 5 tests between each pair of roasts tomorrow and see if there's a legitimate tastable difference going on. If there isn't, it's harder to make the case that the variation matters.
