Also sent an update to the mailing list so people who asked for updates on my progress have an update now that there's progress. The next mailing list update will most likely be telling people they can buy the book, so anybody who wants to get that email should sign up at:

Got replies from 2 technical reviewers (sort of). There's an out of office auto-reply that lists today as the date he's getting back from the one whose business card lists the title "Evil Genius Coffee Scientist". The other reply says she'll look at it over the weekend because she doesn't want it to influence the coffee roasting manual she's writing. I've agreed to review her book when she's done with it and am looking forward to seeing that.

Links to the manuscript have gone out to people who have previously agreed to look this over. These are all people I trust to tell me if what I've written is total garbage, but I hope they don't.

I've picked a photo, run the spellcheck (which is somewhat useless because it catches lots of things that are totally real words, but it did find some words that I like to put extra e's in), made some minor typography corrections, and now I think I'm ready to show the book to a few (6) other people for pre-publication feedback.

The only thing left before sending the book out for technical review is picking a picture to start the explanation of terms chapter, but it's 3:30AM so I'm going to sleep for a while instead of working on that.

I've found a good place in the book to reference my favorite RFC (873)

Evening plan:

1. Eat pizza
2. Eat chocolate
3. Get back to work on finishing the book.

All of these will likely also include cat petting breaks.

It sure is relaxing *cat yells at me from other room* having the house *cat gets in between me and the open refrigerator door, yelling* to myself for a day or two *cat hurls himself in my path on my way to the bathroom, then yells*

The cat thinks I should stop working on the book and pet the cat instead. She's also trying to steal my pen.

Ah.

Well.

I had been planning to go out. Thank you for informing me of this change of plans, I suppose.

The typos I'm catching just reading through are things that spell check wouldn't have caught because they're real words, just not the right word.

I should probably run a spell check over it as well?

Todos for chapter 5 are now all done. I want to make one more pass over the whole thing and write up the explanation of terms section, and there's still 1 todo left in chapter 4. I also need to decide what I want to go with for a photo on the first page of the explanation of terms chapter.

New personal checks arrived today. I went for the smallest option but that's still a few years supply for me.

The cat is trying to push over another stack of books.
