The city is going to be requiring people to wear masks starting Monday. I expect the courts (with a judge I would have voted against had he not been running unopposed) will say the city can't do that, but as a business I can say we're requiring that for entry (don't like it? Phone order with contactless pickup for you or take your manufactured outrage to one of my competitors). We did a tally today and it looks like about 1/3 of customers were bare faced.

This morning the cat followed me into the kitchen for breakfast and was surprised that there was already food in the dish that she could start eating without waiting for me to fill the food dish.

Software update on the new equipment does seem to be an improvement now that I've roasted some batches with it. I think there's still some low hanging fruit for potential improvements. Took some bad cell phone videos to demonstrate that I'll need to process and upload somewhere to link in from that feedback.

The cat is really into belly rubs tonight.

It's too late in the day to fire up the roaster and try the update, but just based on sticking some bags of roasted coffee under the camera, it looks like it's a lot faster. I'm a little curious now to see what changed in the code (as long as I do have access to that) to improve perceived responsiveness by such a huge margin. I'll see if that's still my assessment during tomorrow's roasting session.

I pretty much skipped over USB sticks for file transfer so now that I need one to update the software on the prototype analyzer I have Neptune's head as about my only option.

Looks like I got paid for my YouTube videos again. The money from that pretty much just goes into paying for the PeerTube server (doesn't quite cover that, but it's not a huge difference). I should do a video showing the new prototype analyzer on my roaster soon. People might find that interesting.

Got paid for those online classes I did. The totally legit check arrived looking like a debt refinancing scam so I almost missed it.

I should buy more food today.

Thought I heard a failing hard drive this morning but it was just the cat doing her failing hard drive impersonation.

Yesterday's front porch cat was there again this morning.

There was a smol black cat on the front porch when I left the house this morning. It ran off into the yard and watched me from a safe distance. I reassured it that I wasn't going to chase it, that I was leaving, and it could continue to enjoy the yard/porch. It was still there when I drove away.

cat: *hug*

Also that it's a lot faster to paste ~1MB of text into a text editor and save that someplace reasonable than it is to paste that same text into Terminal. I gave up waiting on that and assume I might have run into some kind of maximum line length in the shell had I kept waiting for that to finish.
