Also spent some time playing the Final Fantasy Resonance demo and as someone who just has not been able to get into later entries in this series (my personal peaks are at 6 and 9), I am tentatively optimistic about this one. I want to get a little farther in the demo but I'm probably buying this one.
Knocked out the to do list item that I've been putting off because it's just a boring slog, but it was the most urgent blocker so it had to get done. Tested that the behavior is correct and then made one tiny improvement that probably nobody else will notice but I will be happier for having done it.
The porting work involved there was pretty minimal and I think there's some other stuff I can go ahead and delete now as well.
I didn't have it marked as a preview release blocker, but after finishing up a report I left half finished yesterday I did go ahead and make all the changes needed to remove a dependency I wanted to get rid of. Now all the reports are produced and displayed in a uniform way that requires a little less boilerplate, isn't showing spurious warnings on stderr, and generally doesn't have quite so many sharp edges to beware of. It is a bit slower to display when requesting hundreds of pages at once.
This is excellent news and I hope I can do the same over on the Windows side. The more I can move into the "just works" category, the better.
Doing some prep work for a new Mac build and discovered that one of the most common optional third party dependencies now allows just including the library in the bundle instead of making users do a separate installation step. I need to poke around a little more to make sure the legal ducks are in a row on that, but if it's true then it means that by full release time a lot of people won't need any third party dependency installation. Just drag my program to the Applications folder.
I might be out of town when that gets delivered so I should leave staff with some instructions if they want to get started on figuring out how we'll roast that before I'm back. Otherwise a few days delay on that won't be problematic.
Some of that increase is that wholesale is up a lot, but it would still be up significantly even if I removed that.
