Airline sent an email apologizing for the delay. That's nice, I guess, but there was a pretty bad storm at the destination and the weather control technologies we have are not exactly free of consequences.

Everybody waited to place their wholesale orders until after I was back in town.

@joereddington Right, but if you've already decided that you're not going to talk to someone, why waste their time?

Why would you agree to be transferred to someone who can answer your questions only to refuse to ask them because the person isn't the one named (who you've been told you need to call early in the day if you must talk to them [you don't]) on your paper? There's something about stereotypical office work that rots the brain, I think.

code.typica.us/ is now running Gitea 1.5.0. If you're interested in approximately how much time it takes for me to work through issues, it's now easier to see that information.

Now, help with making range timers and related functionality more powerful, easier to use, that would be genuinely useful.

(if you're making a competing program, please consider at least not making % notations the default behavior; you're giving people what they're asking for instead of what they need and it's screwing up their roasts)

People are asking me about DTR again (because pretty much every competing program displays it now) and it's still about the worst idea in coffee roasting (if you're using it, I can guarantee that your roasts have less batch to batch consistency than they'd have if you just stuck to the raw duration values instead of obscuring those with a division operation that doesn't correspond to any known chemistry). If you want it in Typica, I need an argument that outweighs the damage this concept causes.

The cat seems to have readjusted to being home.

@roaster42 If you do the same for @neal@video.typica.us you'll also see new videos in your feed. Replies to those show up as comments on the video page on PeerTube.

Tonight the cat doesn't want to cuddle on the couch. She wants belly rubs on the floor.

Fixed one of the issues with using Typica with a dark theme. Accidentally created a hook that could be used to more easily customize reports to align with company style. I doubt anybody is going to use it for that.

That problem isn't one with 4K video in general (it's handled much longer videos just fine), just the ones from my phone.

I recorded a few short videos at the event I was at over the weekend, available exclusively on PeerTube for now.

Infrastructure in the background of this video is pretty incredible. I don't know of another event where you have so many machines hooked up to the same gas/vent system. video.typica.us/videos/watch/8

Also discovered that my instance doesn't like 4K video recorded from my phone without some post-processing. The initial transcode ends up using all the memory and everything starts failing.

Back home. Took longer than planned due to weather.
