New Typica builds are available for download, but only if you can guess the address (not hard). Will try to get the links changed over after work so people have a better chance of finding those.

A new motor is on the way. I want to see about improving motor control capabilities in Typica and I'll have more confidence in code changes if I have real hardware to test against. Basic control options already exist, but they're very generic and I haven't heard much feedback about how practical those really are.

Note: I'm not recommending that anybody mod their equipment unless they really know what they're doing, but most roaster makers will customize if you know what to ask for.

It took a few years and a few more people to convince me and I ended up at the bottom of what might have been the largest ballot the guild has ever run with a pretty large group of people I would have liked to work with. Given that my voice is still heard on the education committee I don't feel at all bad about losing that election. I still get to do the work I think is important and fewer people try to tell me what I'm doing wrong.

One of the people interviewed was actually the first person to suggest that I should run for a position on the RGEC.

Skimmed through the article that I was interviewed for in the latest Roast. I still don't have physical copies, but I have the code to access the digital version. It's a nice piece. I know a substantial fraction of the other people who were interviewed for that and the ones I don't know, I've enjoyed their coffee.

My sister says the cat got on a scale while I was out of town and she's a 14 pound cat.

my cat snores

she also likes to sleep near my head

I'm making shrimp in dinner and the cat is yelling at me.

Got the feedback forms for my class. The response was overwhelmingly positive.

@deshipu@mastodon.technology It's easier to do stuff like this if you get a group in the same place (so rather than whole apples it can be apple slices and split the cost). Alternately, hang out with sensory scientists.

Did the (I hope) final Typica 1.9.1 builds. I'll be doing deployment testing later today and then that should be available to download in the usual place.

Windows users on 1.9.1rc1 can safely ignore this (no functional changes). Linux users with HiDPI screens or who don't stick to their default system themes might want to track the development branch for a little while as I'm fixing stuff related to themes and HiDPI.

Grocery store printed out a coupon at checkout today. This freshly printed coupon expired 5 days ago. :thinking_cirno:

It seems like every time I read the communications manual for another device that speaks modbus I run into another way the protocol gets abused that needs special case handling in software.

Went into work early to finish up some stuff only to find that my staff did all the stuff I was going to take care of. :cirnoHi:
