Reading through the Qt 6.5 LTS release announcement. Most of it isn't relevant to anything that I do, but it looks like the QML Qt Quick Controls TableView got almost everything on my wish list (there's at least one area where the widget based version provided a far superior API that's not called out so I might have to keep my kludge for that but I'll look into it), so that's fantastic. I'll want to start using that right away.

Saw a news story that the whitehouse will not be buying staffers little checkmarks, which is of course the right decision, but it doesn't go far enough. It should take the money saved not buying checkmarks and set up a misskey server for them to post on instead.

Made a tiny bit of progress on a project. It's a bit farther along than I expected to get mainly because I'd forgotten that I'd already done a good chunk of what I thought I needed to do next.

The cat wants to help me eat dinner. She's not trying to eat the food herself, just wants to curl up in my lap while I'm trying to eat.

Opened up a project I'd been working on and saw a bunch of errors. Somehow one of my headers did not contain what I thought it contained and just had some autogenerated boilerplate that I needed exactly none of and now I'm wondering if I just hallucinated writing that code or what. Easy fix at least.

(found exactly the measuring device I was looking for)

Need to do some measurements. Let's see if I can find an appropriate measuring device.

Repair is tested and working, so my prior repair attempt didn't break anything that wasn't already broken.

Replacement parts arrived. They come as a pair, but only one was broken so I'm leaving the one that's still working in and I'll have a spare for whichever one of these breaks next.

Dream featured long distance bus travel, fancy tickets, and animals named Meal and Snack.

Imagine playing a video game and getting a lesson on the dangers of phishing scams.

Saw another restaurant closed. I used to eat there pretty regularly, but stopped when they took all the stuff I ordered off the menu and replaced it with things that were not as good.

Arrived at work in the middle of a surprise dish washer delivery. The way this was supposed to go is that we'd be notified of when the delivery was scheduled so we could have the plumber remove the old one so that could be taken away, but that didn't happen so we'll just have the one plumber visit to disconnect the old one and connect the new one and the delivery people will have to come back to take away the old unit.

Replaying Gris (free PS5 upgrade). Managed to avoid the eel bites on the first try on this play through. When I first played the game it took a while for me to realize that section was playable and not just a cool cut scene.

In slightly related news, I'm back at home and the cat has just climbed into my lap where she'll probably try to stay for the next 16 hours.

As of approximately 2:40AM there was a massive line apparently trying to use a Wendy's drive through. I had no idea they were even open that early (or maybe they weren't which is how the line got so big as it seemed to be the same size when I turned to go to the post office and after I was done with the post office) and it seems weird that this would be a hugely popular time to get fast food. Is there some kind of weird promotion going on? They're never that busy during normal eating times.

Attempt at redoing the repair failed. Fortunately I'm a strong believer in redundancy on business critical equipment so there's an alternative that works, just not as well and I've ordered proper replacement parts. Yes, it's 1:48AM and I'm still at work. Sometimes being a business owner is like that.

Hmm... Seems the repair is a little flaky. Worked for a little while but now not so much.

When I went home to get my iron I let the cat sit on me for a little while. She was probably disappointed when I had to leave again. If she had her way she would have sat on me for hours and I still have work to get done tonight.
