Registered for the event that I'm teaching at in April. They've added a $5 volunteer administration fee, which is pretty messed up. A lot of the draws of that event are things that run on volunteer efforts. All things like that will accomplish is drive disengagement. (Technically I'm getting paid for what I'm doing, but not enough that it makes sense from a purely transactional perspective, but if I were signing up for grunt shifts I'd be pretty pissed about getting asked to pay for that.)
I continue to complain about voyager and I will never stop
@kara @malevolent_usb_drive @Taweret The romanticized past thing is very true. I mean, It manages to romanticize shit like WW2. I'd say a lot of that is actually down to campiness/foraying into myths/ignorance rather than downright conservatism.
At it's best it challenges this stuff - one of my favourite things in DS9 is that Sisko brings this whole thing up - his discomfort with taking part in a holosuite program set in Jim-Crow era
The most obnoxious part about this is that the same data needs to be sent to another part of the government and to do that it's just a couple clicks in the accounting software and it goes off electronically without this stupid hand transcription of digital records step.
Here's a link to that dinosaur fabric if anybody wanted to look at that.

Found my first coffee roaster while cleaning the basement. This was useful to demonstrate the changes coffee goes through in roasting before we were roasting our own. It also had some time roasting samples, but the control on this is limited and consistency is bad. Eventually I was able to do better roasting samples in a production roaster (basically roasting by sound as that's so far below minimum batch size that visuals and instruments are unavailable). These days I have something appropriate.
Another Atelier Rorona DX glitch: Ster Highlands Dragon Lair, it's possible to get on the wrong side of the area entrance. Enemies can walk through, but you can't cross over to the gathering points. Since you're not supposed to be there at all it's possible to walk off the path and fall off the mountain. I didn't find anything down there and once you fall far enough the game drops you from the sky back onto land, still on the wrong side of the entrance.
