One of my videos is up to 994 likes on YouTube (only took 7.5 years to get there but it's still one of the better videos out there for the material it covers). Will it hit 1000 by the end of the month? Maybe.

It's disappointing, but I don't see any reason to expect that they're not going to make this right and frankly it's better that a problem like this happens to someone like me than someone who urgently needs that particular machine to work. I can keep using my IR-1 for sample roasting and work on different aspects of my software while I wait for this to get resolved. The time zone situation is kind of obnoxious, though, since they're based in London (I get email between 4-7AM and I work closing).

New roaster is packed back in its case and in the original shipping box to go back for warranty repair (since it arrived in a non-functional state).

It looks like the motor only has two modes: full blast (meaning any coffee put into the machine is immediately expelled and it's moving more air than the heating element can heat so it never comes up to its pre-heat) and off. Also, once the machine notices a problem and puts on the purple light it takes 6-7 hours rest to do even that again.

yep, still allergic to the cat.

Used the last of my wok oil and a spicy sauce that was about to expire. Need to remember I'll want more of those next time I make this.

It looks like the I-Pass will work all along any reasonable route on the next trip as long as I avoid the I-75/85 express lanes in GA (non-express lanes are free).

Unfortunately there are 2 or 3 states I'll be driving through that aren't compatible with this so I'll have to do some route research and see if there are tolls in those states and what I should expect.

Finally got around to updating my I-Pass account to have a current credit card on it. I'm just assuming there will be tolls I can use that on when I take my next planned trip. Probably would have been fine since I've got something like $16 in the account, but now I can delete the reminder email.

Further investigation into the whole new roaster isn't working situation reveals that it's reporting a motor fault. :cirnoCry:

While the roaster isn't working, it does come in a very nice case. Basically roller luggage with a foam insert cut to hold the machine, its parts, and a stack of sample cards securely. Pretty sure it's sized appropriately to be a carry on bag.

The grocery store I shop at regularly has an affordable pack of pre-sliced veggies that they claim is for fajitas, but it's a good mix for a low fuss stir fry. I think I'll have that after work today.

A customer today wanted to pray for me to no longer have cat allergies. I don't expect that to have any effect, but I also don't see the harm in it as long as I don't do something stupid like throw away my allergy medicine.

DHL got the new roaster to Milwaukee early enough this morning to get it out for delivery today. I don't know where I am along their route, but if it shows up today that's a day sooner than the original estimate (from the manufacturer, not from DHL themselves who thought it would be delivered 3 days ago)

Some excerpts from episodes of Coffee and Code that might have more interesting titles.

The coffee roaster doesn't seem to be moving any closer over the weekend so I'm guessing it's not going to show up Monday, but Tuesday is probably likely. The manufacturer originally said it would show up Tuesday, but maybe a little sooner or later depending on customs. It was DHL who initially came up with a Friday estimate that turned out to be unrealistic. Now they're not even trying to provide an estimate. I'm sure CBP is just confused trying to keep track of what tariffs are in effect today
