My sister asked me to buy the latest QuickBooks for Mac for her but Intuit's page for that is broken because instead of just using a link they're doing some JS junk but have the important line commented out. You can view as source to get the link and then paste it into the address bar but like, did nobody test this?

@agudbrandson Sure enough, the format's been changed. There are a lot fewer columns there than there used to be.

It turns out that I accidentally edited out a whole paragraph in the latest video which leads to kind of an awkward segue. "How big of a concern is this?" should have followed talk about early roast drying with an excessively slow start.

@agudbrandson If the data isn't loading on that screen or if it's still not available from the batch log, if you could send a current CSV (email or use the public file drop I linked earlier) I can look into it more locally and fix things if there's now a bug.

@agudbrandson That change wouldn't have affected this, but the import code is old enough that it's possible that the app changed the CSV it's exporting to become incompatible or that the data wasn't properly saved in the first place.

If you go to Manual Log Entry, enter the details of the green coffee and roasting details, then switch to the Roast Data tab, File->Import->IKAWA, select the file. You should see the data loaded on the screen. Submit. Should be available through the batch log.

The latest video is currently transcoding over on PeerTube. I particularly recommend the viewer question segment where I take a deep dive into what I've previously called the least important part of the roast before bringing it back around to practical considerations in roasting plan design. It'll probably hit YouTube later in the afternoon or evening if you prefer to see ads.

Eating the end pieces from the latest batch of double chocolate biscotti.

My YouTube channel seems to have passed 3000 subscribers this month. I have to go back to 2016 to find a video on that channel with >3000 views so that's pretty messed up. I'm putting basically no effort in there because I don't trust the platform. Everybody here should just watch my stuff on PeerTube instead.

I forgot my phone at home today. The biggest impact this has on my life is that I can't show people pictures of my cat so it's not that big a deal.

Tasting the latest lot of coffee from El Salvador. I didn't like my first attempt at roasting this, but I adjusted the timing and it's a lot better now.

The cat has mostly been ignoring me this morning. It's very windy outside so she's up in the bedroom where there's a soft carpet and a vent directly over the furnace. She's staying near the door and looking out in the hallway so she can keep an eye on me if I go upstairs instead of using the bed.

The next episode of Coffee and Code is shaping up nicely. Still on pace to get that out Monday.

The cat and I are both having dinner at the same time.

Profile translation visualization from the next episode of Coffee and Code (assuming the video upload here worked) in which I'll be talking a lot about how to approach the start of a batch.

Did a coffee tasting for a couple planning their wedding to help them get a better sense of the range of the product line and what their options are. They're doing a donut bar instead of wedding cake and want some coffees to pair with that.

Bowser (Super Mario Bros. series) is underappreciated as an administrative genius. You don't get all those castles, airships, &c. without some serious brain power.

I think I'm going to try to get the next episode of Coffee and Code out on Monday. As usual, that'll hit PeerTube first.
