It was someone on redit. No real conversation for me to jump in on and since I've never bothered making an account there I'll continue to just ignore that.

I wonder who shared the YouTube version of my latest video. Pro tip: it was available on PeerTube earlier and there aren't ads run with the video there so maybe share that version instead?

Found a dime in my shoe. This, of course, means that I need to add pocket repair to my to do list.

My latest video. Once you get past my ranting about how much I hate using presentation software there's some solid coffee roasting info in there.

The music in my latest video is an easter egg. If you're watching with your computer speaker playing the sound you probably can't hear it, but if you're wearing headphones it's there. I figured out how long the video was going to be, set a timer, and played for about that long.

Then end of this year or maybe early next year there's some coffee from Rwanda that's not in the US yet that I'm looking forward to bringing in.

A couple new coffees are coming soon. First up I'm expecting a coffee from Sulawesi any day now. That's almost certainly going to get roasted quite dark. After that I've found a really nice coffee from Ethiopia that I'm excited to bring in. Going out past that things are a bit less certain. I'm trying to get coffees from Costa Rica and Sumatra and that's just taking some time to sort out, and once that's figured out I'll be moving on to Brazil and decafs.

Every now and then I get an order for coffee from someone and I have to think, "I've been to the city where you live. You have so many good local coffee roasters there. Why are you buying from me?" But then I take their money and mail them some coffee.

Decided to add some music to my next video behind my talking. I was going for a sense of there's music there but you're not paying attention to it and it's not distracting from the voice over.

Sending out emails trying to buy some coffees. There's a small importer that I haven't purchased from yet, but I've known the owner of the company for years and she's got some really nice stuff at the moment. Another supplier that's usually very reliable for me is getting hit hard by the current supply chain difficulties that so they're trying to find out if they've got customers who are long on their positions and might be willing to let me take over some of their contracts.

New charge terminal arrived today. It's an updated model with more markings on the outside that I'm hoping help customers notice where the slot is for them to insert the card so I've decided to make that the customer facing one instead of giving the staff facing one the newer receipt printer, which I would have done had there not been customer facing improvements.

The cat and I both got thirsty at the same time.

No, I'm not fixing the mistakes in that awful construction.

Stopped someone from buying coffee today. They wanted it shipped as a gift to someone who I just recently shipped stuff to someone who then called wanting to know if the order had gone out and cancel if it hadn't because her husband just got back from a trip with a bunch of coffee, but it had already left the building so she already has an oversupply of coffee to get through.

Got a couple more requests for presentation slides, but now I can just copy/paste the links out of a previous outgoing email. The shop has a server running Nextcloud :nextcloud: so I'm pointing people at that. I'm also working on a short video run through of the slides and pointing people at a PeerTube :peertube: channel where that will exist once it's ready. (I'll also upload it to YouTube, but it'll have ads there which pay for the PeerTube hosting)

Recorded some audio for hopefully my next video. Next step, cleaning that up and trimming it down.

I've been informed that the coffee I've had on order from Sulawesi is now in the United States, tasting good, and ready to go on a truck to get the rest of the way to my shop. Looking forward to working with that. Will almost certainly be a dark roast.

Computer in the office suddenly decided that it should try to send email on port 25 instead of port 587. Why it randomly decided to change that setting, why that setting is hidden behind a badly labeled check box, I don't know. Dear Apple Mail on MacOS, don't break my settings and please pick a default that's sane for the year 2021.
